How to use Coaching in a Mediation Framework

An essential role of a Mediator/FDRP is to facilitate communications and negotiations within the process to maximise the potential for mutually agreed outcomes and resolutions. To do this requires knowledge and skills to be able to coach parties on how to do this constructively. Most parties do not understand how to express their concerns, issues and needs in such a way that will enable the other party to hear and respond appropriately. Nor do they understand how to negotiate in their own best interests and to package proposals that address both their own and the other parties needs and how to present these proposals in language that will be received positively by the other party. This webinar will look at the skills required to be able to effectively coach parties in Mediation/FDR.
